SuperNova in Use (Simulation) by this EM Doc, NoDesat Device update.

June 8, 2016

Used it 6 times so far in the ED since getting them in late 2015.

No desat. I don't own stock in this product. But I wish I did. It has so much potential.

For chronic care possibly for Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients who need a better device at night for their bipap. And for the emergent care for patients in prehospital, ED and OR or the hospital floors for those with respiratory failure.

It was once used as a Bipap device but most success as an in between device for NoDESAT. 5 out of 5 times no desaturation of the patient for RSI before or afterwards.

The device is better than High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Better than just a plan Facemask. Even better than the 2 combined.

It allows for passive peep if connected to a closed circuit, of the Bag Mask Ventilator, Manual Resuscitator I have with a Peep Valve cranked up to 10 of peep and high flow oxygen over 15 liters per minute running thru its tubing. Kovacs proves to me that this works.

Here are Videos demonstrating how I use the SuperNova device by Revolutionary Medical Devices.

Please secure the BVM tightly on the the top of the SuperNova so it won't slip or fall off. Please.

The first video showing the Bag Mask Ventilator with a peep valve connected to high flow oxygen attached to the SuperNova apparatus in case, the intubator fails and needs to provide rescue ventilation/oxygenation.

Remember to  disengage the oral covering apparatus for intubation, leave the nasal part attached/covering the patient's nasal orifice. The Hose thru the Nose needs to be maintained.

THIS IS THE FIRST WAY TO LEARN TO USE THE DEVICE. MOST COMMON WAY TO USE THE DEVICE.

Second video shows me using a Ventilator jimmy rigged to be connected to the SuperNova for preoxygenation/ventilation prior to intubation.

MORE WAYS TO U SE THE DEVICE AS WE USE OUR IMAGINATION AND CONNECTIONS WE CAN COME UP WITH FOR PATIENT SAFETY.

Look up the SUPERNO2VA device for more information.
