I thought of George Kovacs head lift to align the airways better during direct laryngoscopy. But since most of my patients are ramped up by me for better lung expansion and aspiration prevention, I needed to find an added use of my right hand when intubating.
That right hand can be useful using the suction device either Hi-D big stick or Yankeuer suction stick to pry open the patient's mouth as taught to me by Dr. James Ducanto.
Remind yourself with this video.
Or used to help drive the tip of my curved blade laryngoscope deep as I can into the Vallecula as promoted by me as E.C.M.
Or can it be used for both. Yes it can.
